As a member of the southern based rap group the General, Young Tunk brings an explosive yet laid back style to the studio every time he steps into one. Starting at the age of 17, tunk started writing poetry and became fascinated with the power of words and the effect they would have on people, with groups like Outkast and artist like 2pac, Tunk started to see the influence the music had on him and grew closer to forming a nitch for himself through rap and hip hop music. "I always go into the studio prepared to say something, its a way of life for me but it's also a form of expression; so when i start harmonizing my adlibs im just really expressing years of held down fustration, it's the same with my lyrics". With his combination of sharp lyrics joining his ability to harmonize a hip hop classic at any given time, Tunk and other people seem to see the bright future the young man has in music. "I spent years working on my sound and listening, now it's only a matter of time untill I make my mark, it's like a grind to me right now, I'd never stop the grind, never".
