Jihad Q. Jenkins (born May 21, 1992), better known as Lil Hod, is a producer and graphics designer. Lil Hod was born in Atlanta, Ga, but would spend most of his childhood life in Clayton County. In 5th grade, he attented McGarrah Elementary School, wanting to pursue a rap career being inspired by artist like Outkast, Bone Thugs N- Harmony, and Snoop Dogg. At the time he had no stage name for himself. He created a rap book to write songs that were related to school, being a kid, and everyday life. By the time the 5th grade school year was over he wrote more than 5 songs, recording one of the songs in school with a friend by the name of Michael Buckley. Buckley produced the song by beat boxing the beat on an old tape recorder that was used by teachers to play cassettes. After the song was recorded, Jenkins and Buckley quickly let others like teachers, principals, counselors, and students listen to the song created by the only two students who had such musical talent in the school. The 5th grade school year ended. Jenkins prepared for the next level in education "Middle School". He attended Adamson Middle School joining the band which led him to learn the basic of music like notes, scales, rhythm, and etc. At the beginning of the 7th grade year, Jenkins created a stage name for himself, he was known as Lil Hod. During the 7th grade year, Lil Hod released a song called Beat Down that warned people that if you mess him you’ll get beat down. He used a karaoke microphone that was plugged up to a stereo that he owned and played the beat off his computer speakers. He passed out CDs of the song that people would quickly comment on. A few months later Lil Hod moved to the Southside of Clayton County. He got used to the area after meeting new friends and finding others who had musical talents. After letting his new friends hear the song that Lil Hod made, his talents were spoken from word of mouth. Later he would be introduced to producing, one day he was using a program that was used to produce beats called FL Studio. He produced a beat that was later used on a song he recorded. Since that day Lil Hod kept producing beats and changed his mind about the career he wanted to pursue, producing was Lil Hod's new talent. In 2006, he gave up rapping and wanted to pursue a career in music production after being influenced by producers like Timbaland, Scott Storch, and Dr.Dre. As the year went by Lil Hod got better and better as an upcoming producer. In the year of 2007, Lil Hod took things to a higher level; hustling up money to purchase equipment for himself. After him purchasing his equipment he took producing serious. In May 2007, he created a production label by the name of Lil Hod Muzik, which would give him the opportunity to produce some hot tracks and make money. Also teaching himself how to make graphics designs. Later that year, he purchased a MIDI Controller that would make producing beats an easier job for him. Till this day, Lil Hod is still producing and continues to pursue his career as a Hip Hop Music Producer. With lots of support and success, no one can stop him from doing what he does best.
